Okay, confession time: I don’t actually watch much TV.
I’m making my way through Friends, and last year I watched How I Met Your Mother, but apart from that…I don’t watch TV. HOWEVER, if some of these books and series were made into TV shows, I would be such a couch potato it’s not even funny.
Oh, as if this wasn’t my first thought.
Because they left so MUCH out of the movies, and there could easily be a season out of each book. This would be like the perfect TV show ever.
The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
I mean, I know Anne Hathaway is awesome and everything, but there aren’t many teen comedy TV shows out there, and this would be SO funny.
Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton – in case you’d forgotten, I absolutely LOVED THIS BOOK TO PIECES. Favourite book of the year so far – READ IT. I think it’d make a great teen drama, a la Make it Or Break It (which is about gymnastics) or Dance Academy.
The Intern by Gabrielle Tozer – this could be just the starting point of a really hilarious show. Tagline: what kind of shenanigans will Josie Browning get up to this week? Tweet us how much secondhand embarrassment you experienced! And, okay, this isn’t a standalone – the sequel, Faking It, would be more fodder for amazing TV.
Masquerade by Kylie Fornasier – there’s so much HAPPENING here, and how amazing would the settings be? This would make an excellent TV show.
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
BUT WOULDN’T IT BE AMAZING? Like it could be this whole massive saga, gradually introducing the different characters and switching between the storylines and AGH, I need it!!
My True Love Gave to Me
THIS COULD BE A MINI-SERIES LEADING UP TO CHRISTMAS, WITH ONE SHORT EPISODE EVERY WEEK OR SOMETHING. IT WOULD BE SO CUTE. PLEASE.
THE SARAH J. MAAS ONES
It would be like a cool epic fantasy series, a la Game of Thrones, except obviously better because it will have badass females instead of sexism. OH OH OH and it should definitely have the Assassin’s Blade stories as flashbacks during the series. That would be heartbreaking and excellent.
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
This would be absolutely breath-taking, I think. Maybe three seasons, one for each book? There’s a LOT of material in here, and I’d love to see more of the world from Inkspell.
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
Now THIS would be a cool series. Maybe a mini-season per book or something? I love how Artemis Fowl combines magic with technology.
Which books or series would you like to see as TV shows?
